ABOUT ME
My genuine interest in wine began in 2013 and hasn't let up since!
I started hosting "wine nights" for my friends and quickly realized that
for me, wine was becoming more than just a hobby.

Began as a Host for a Michelin-star restaurant in a Forbes Five Star hotel in D.C.

2019 - Enrolled in the WSET Level 3 Course

Passed the Level 3 exam with Merit (Distinction in Theory)

Promoted to Wine Director

2020 - Covid Shutdown

Created The Social Somm during quarantine

Career "pivot" as Operations Manager overseeing the development and opening of a 14,000 sq. ft. food hall in Foggy Bottom, D.C.

I am currently planning to attend the Advanced Sommelier course in 2024 with intention to sit the exams in 2025.
I created The Social Somm as a means of combining my two passions: event planning and wine! My hope is to create experiences that help others fall more deeply in love with wine, one sip at a time.
